Ambition - A double edged sword

Ambition is a double edged sword. Sometimes it gives you power and motivations, but sometimes it ends up controlling you as a slave and becomes your worst enemy. If you use it well it puts you in advantage, otherwise it will hurt you dearly. In this world money and power are inexhaustible. Macbeth always dreams of more power and was controlled by his ambition and lead him into failure.
I was once driven by my ambition while i was trying to sell my Ipod on ebay. The auction period of selling is one week, during the auction period it allows buyers to raise the bids of the item. The highest bid at the end of the week wins the item. My ambition tells me to sell the product at a highest price. In order to do that, i created my second ebay account so i can raise the price for my product. I raised the price over and over again during the auction period. My ambition always pushes me to hunt more money and it seems that the price will never satisfy my ambition. Eventually the price went way above the average line of the normal price and nobody wants to bid on it anymore. I ended up buying my own product.
It is human nature to to achieve higher, but if you don't control your ambition, things will very likely end up disasters. Ambition will always lead people to hunt for more than they have, especially with money and power. The more money you have, the quicker you will spend it and you will never feel that you have enough. Unfortunetly my ambition drove me into a disaster this time.

Haunted by my ambition!

Spring time, it's almost the end of the school year. Lots of school clubs are doing all sorts of fund raising to collect money for next year. One of the fund raise event that caught my sight is the three point shoot out. Basketball is one of my favourite sport, so i decide to participate in the shoot out without any hesitation. The students council promised there will be a winning prize of $25 and  I was very confident that i would win the prize.
I was the first one there at the shoot out, so i got some time to practice a bit. When the shoot out began, i was the first participant and every try out cost $2. I got a bit tired after shooting for 40 seconds, and i ended up with a score of 9 shots made. I thought it was a fairly well result untill one person scored 16. I became frustrated and thinking that i would not be able to win the prize anymore. My ambition pushed me to try again, but still couldn't beat 16. My ambition couldn't resist the temptation of the prize and pushed me to keep on trying until i become the highest scorer. Failure after failure, i became even more frustrated because the money i wasted time after time. But my ambition was still telling to try one more time and to believe in myself. My body and action was almost controlling by my ambition.
I finally stopped myself and my ambition after wasting $8 on three point shooting. I was haunted by my ambition and was not able to control my action. I would spend more dollars if i didn't stop myself. My ambition was not able to resist the temptation of the prize. Luckily this time i was able to stop my ambition before it hurts me even more.....

The sign of strong ambition

Ambition could change your personality in your daily life. People with strong ambition usually has a defined goal and has strong determination to it. They tend to talk and act more aggressively than other people. People with lacker ambition usually don't have any plans for future. They are clueless of what they want and what they are looking for. They also tends to care less things, it seems that everything to them is "whatever".
Ambition displeases when it has been sated and  when it  reached the peak, it aspires to descend. Ambition is an uncomfortable companion many times. He is restless and never satisfied but always pressing forward to better things in the future. Too much ambition will easily control you and turn things into disasters.
I am a person that has a strong ambition. When i am doing work, i will not get distracted untill the work is done. No matter how hard the work is, i would never give it up. My ambition provides me the willingness to do the things that i want and always leads me to pursue forward. Sometimes my ambition hurts me, but most of the times my ambition has been providing me motivations and determinations. I am optimisitc about my future, my ambition has lead me into the right direction and helped me to reach success.

How does ambition affect teens?

Ambition is the desire for personal achievement. It provides you motivation and determination to reach your goals. Sometimes teenager suffer from lack of ambition,  it seems that they do not have enough determination to do things and focus on studies. For those students that recieve low grades in school, it is not because that they have less talent than other students, in fact it is because that they do not have enough ambition and courage to work and study harder.

Ambition not only affects teenagers in studies, but also affect teenagers when they are competing  in sports. Some teenagers just don't seem have the right amount of energy when they competing in sports. They seem like they don't care about winning. This also shows they are suffering from lack of ambition and determination.
I am very competitive in sports, especially in pool, basketball and soccer. My ambition always force me to play my best for winning. When i am in school, i try to get the highest mark possible in every course. By doing this, not only can satisfy my parents but also is being responsible for myself. Fortunately my ambition always keeps me forward and leads me into the right direction.

Ambition leads me to success

Evey teens in Canada play sports, whether they like it or they try to stay fit. Sports is a important chip in our life, it gives us the joy of winning. Football, hockey, basketball, volleyball and baseball, these are the most popular sports in North America. But none of these sports are my favourite, strange isn't it? Well my favourite sport is pool, not swimming in the actual pool, but pool as pocket billiards, a cue sport that plays on the pool table.
Basketball was the first sport that i liked when i was young, but i hated to play it outside under the sunshine and sweating like a pig, so i decided to play indoor sports which is pool. I first started to play pool in the summer of 2007 when i was still back in China. It is a considerably a popular sport back then in China. The intensity and fun of the game really attracts me. I was quickly addicted to this sport while i was trying to be an expert in the game. My parents were strongly against me playing pool. They thought the sport belongs to elder people not a teenager, but my ambition to become an expert and the desire of playing the game lead me continue to play the sport. I was self-taught the whole time and only practiced with my friends during the weekends.
My desire was soon cooled down after i moved to Canada in 2008. As I arrived in this land, I soon discovered that pool is rarely seen in Canada. My passion and love of the sport was no longer there. But my ambition kept my head up and kept on telling me that i have talent in this sport. I soon started watching tutorial videos on the internet to help me to advance to another skill level. Every time i try to give up on myself and the sport, my ambition becomes my motivation and provides me courage to not give up.
Finally a chance came to me in 2010.  My parents' friend invited me to join a mini-tournament in Toronto. Although it's a small tournament, but it has a winning prize of $300. My parents joked about i would be a spectator in the tournament, but i trust in myself and my ambition forced me to play in the first tournament in my career. During the tournament, i was facing elder people, but that didn't lower down my confidence. Eventually I won the competition and suprised everyone including my parents.
My ambition kept my head up and prodvided me courage. It erase all the frustrations that I had. Clearly, my ambition lead me into the right direction, and helped me to reach success.
